Happy Thanksgiving Break Nov. 23 through 27! See you Monday, Nov. 30!

Brewer High School Updated Transition Plan - 10th Graders Return Nov. 30

Our ninth graders have done an outstanding job transitioning back to attending school five days a week.

As originally planned, our in person 10th graders will return to the school building five days a week beginning Monday, Nov. 30. We believe the safety protocols we have implemented (mask requirements, desk shields, hand sanitizing stations and extensive cleaning with hospital grade sanitizers) continue to be effective as our weekly COVID-19 case numbers have remained low and consistent with the prior 9 weeks.

To enable us to continue to monitor our active COVID-19 cases and to ensure that we can continue to implement safe practices, the return date for our in person 11th and 12th graders will now be Wednesday, Jan. 6 (the first day of the spring semester). This will provide our team with additional time to ensure that we can bring all of our students back into the building 5 days a week safely.

These dates are subject to change as we continue to monitor the transition process at BHS.

To help us ensure that our students return safely after the Thanksgiving Break and to enable us to continue to provide in person learning, it’s imperative that our families notify the school nurse over the break in the event that:
    • Your student or ANYONE in your home has symptoms;
    • Your student or someone in your home has a pending COVID-19 test or a positive COVID-19 test;
    • Your student has been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 or a pending COVID-19 test.

Please email Health Services Coordinator Traci James, tjames@wsisd.net, or call 817.367.4162 or email Nurse Courtney Moore, ckmoore@wsisd.net. Do NOT send your student to school on Monday, Nov. 30 prior to speaking with a nurse if any of these apply.

We encourage you to practice the safety measures recommended by the Health Department over the break. We appreciate your continued support to keep our students and staff healthy. Have a great break and be safe.
