Hundreds of students and their families attended WSISD's first-ever Let's Taco 'Bout It Night on March 4, designed to provide simple ways that individuals can spread hope and prevent suicide and be educated about the unhealthy risk factors students may face in the community.
Brewer High School HOPE Squad members taught a variety of breakout sessions that taught participants the signs of suicide, how to share their emotions, how to communicate better and be a good friend, and more! The event included practical ways to relieve stress and anxiety like yoga and stress balls as well as the WSISD comfort dogs.
Other topics included teen trafficking by Unbound Fort Worth, DWI and texting and driving from the White Settlement Police Department and fire safety by the White Settlement Fire Department. WSISD team members also rovided sessions about safe social media, and drug, alcohol and tobacco prevention.
